3D and 4D modeling. Many of our engineers are technical experts in their fields, presenting at conferences around the world.
At Horstein, Engineering Consultants design an organizational structure that allows us to work on a variety of projects without compromising our ability to provide each of our clients with great service. Each of our divisions is managed by a Senior Licensed Professional Engineer or Registered Professional Land Surveyor and is staffed with teams of dedicated industry professionals. A. Earthworks

Horstein has the capacity to design, construct and operate national highway projects. We have experience in contract mining including bulk earthworks for major developments.

B. Sports and Recreation

Horstein has experience in construction of the stadia. Horstein is also capable for financial and technical management monitoring and control of stadia development projects. Program management is implemented in cases where a number of related projects are undertaken to achieve a common objective. The program management of the ten 2010 FIFATM World Cup Stadia in Joint Venture with ARUP is testimony to our capability.

C. Transportation

i. Airports

We are a major provider of infrastructure for the civil aviation sector. We deliver terminal buildings, retail precincts, multi-storey car parks, airfield pavements and other assets.

ii. Rail

Horstein provides project management and construction services for light rail, track construction, overhead wiring, station construction and refurbishment, railway bridges and maintenance services. Horstein has been involved in the ugrading of the Mabopane Train Station Concourse near Pretoria, the third largest train station in South Africa. Horstein has experience in the development of intermodal facilities for effective transportation solutions.

iii. Roads

We are one of the foremost road contractor in Zimbabwe and through consortia, we have been responsible for some of landmark road and bridge infrastructure projects including the construction of the Ngezi Road for Zimplats high specification highway, by the Ngezi Road JV. We deliver transport assets while fostering sound community engagement and health, safety and environmental management practices.

D. Minerals and processing

We provide design, construction, maintenance and asset management services to the mineral resources sector. major mining and metals projects in Southern Africa, key players in the diamonds, chrome and platinum sectors, enabling our customers to produce everything from aluminum to zinc.

E. Water & Waste Water

We have experience delivering engineering, design, construction, installation and long-term operations and maintenance support to metropolitan and regional water agencies. Our experience spans the construction, operation and maintenance of major treatment, bulk water storage, transmission and network distribution infrastructure. Our strong, collaborative relationships with clients help create cost-effective solutions.

F. Oil, Gas & Chemicals

Horstein leads in design, procurement, construction, and project management of oil, chemical, and natural-gas facilities, to deliver global LNG capacity, refineries and chemical plants, tanks, and terminal facilities.

G. Energy

The demand for energy in the developing country continues to outstrip supply. Horstein leverages its expertise in the design, procurement, and construction of thermal power plants. We are also involved on renewable and alternative sources of power such as solar and wind energy.
